The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the summit of a rise, in gently undulating pasture. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork (approx. dims. 39m N-S; 34m E-W) abutting a field boundary to SW. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a suboval-shaped earthwork cut by a field boundary running NW-SE across the SW quadrant.
Monument described in 1970 as a roughly circular-shaped area (dims. 35m ENE-SWS; 36m NNW-SSE) enclosed by a bank (Wth at top 0.7m; basal Wth 3.2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.5m) visible from W-N-E-S and has several small disturbance gaps. The perimeter is obscured by a modern field boundary and ditch from S-W which appears to have been constructed out of the bank. There is no visible trace of an external fosse. The original entrance is not recognisable. The interior rises gently from the perimeter towards centre and has traces of cultivation ridges running NNW-SSE. Monument is visible on Digital Globe aerial photography as a tree-lined earthwork.
