The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a low rise, in gently undulating pasture, with good views in all directions. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as a substantial roughly oblong-shaped earthwork (approx. dims. 125m NE-SW; 68m NW-SE) which has a straight side at the SW end. Annotated 'fort' on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map where it is depicted as a large, oval shaped enclosure aligned NE-SW. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a shorter D-shaped earthwork which is truncated along the SW end by a field boundary running NW-SE.
No surface remains visible of large enclosure with possible field system immediately to SSE clearly visible on oblique aerial photographs taken 15/07/1966 (CUCAP APE028/029). Levelled monument visible today as a broad D-shaped cropmark highlighted as an area of differential growth on Digital Globe aerial photography.
