The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the W edge of the summit of a large ridge running N-S, with extensive views in all directions. Ringfort (WM018-077----) lies c. 190m to NE. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as a subrectangular-shaped earthwork truncated by public road at SE. Annotated ‘fort’ on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map.
Monument described in 1980 as the much modified remains of a roughly rectangular-shaped area (approx. dims. 57m NE-SW; 41m NW-SE) enclosed by a scarp which is incorporated into field fences along the NW, where it is best preserved and on the NE side. The monument is defined by a public road along of the SE side. The perimeter has been levelled to SW. A modern house is built within the W quadrant. The remainder of the interior has been ploughed to form the garden of the house plot. A low scarp runs NW-SE across the centre of the interior and is much disturbed. The site is no longer recognisable as an antiquity. Monument is visible as a much modified subrectangular-shaped earthwork occupied by a house plot, on Digital Globe aerial photography.
