The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the W edge of the summit of a large ridge running N-S, with extensive views in all directions. Rectangular-shaped enclosure (WM018-084----) lies c. 190m to SW. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as a roughly oval-shaped earthwork. Depicted on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map as a well-formed oval-shaped earthwork.
Monument described in 1980 as a roughly circular-shaped area (34m NNE-SSW; 32m WNW-ESE) enclosed by an inner bank which is reduced to a scarp and a berm in places. A broad low earthen inner bank is present from NE-E-SE which is reduced to a scarp from SE-S-W-N-NNE. This inner scarp is higher and steeper from SSW-W-NW-NNW. A gap (approx. Wth 6m) in the bank at the NE may represent the original entrance. An outer berm-like feature is visible from SW-W-NW-NNW, having a flat top and a low scarp at its outer edge. There is no indication of a fosse. The interior rises irregularly towards the centre and is steepest to E and W. There are traces of old cultivation ridges running roughly E-W across the interior and similar ridges can be seen in the surrounding field. Monument is visible as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
