The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in level pasture with marshy area to E. Depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map as a circular-shaped earthwork which is respected by a curvilinear field boundary from W-N. St. Patrick's Well (WM018-059----) lies c. 30m to NE. Circular-shaped earthwork depicted on an estate map of Sonna Demesne (NLI, MS 21 F. 48 (018) ).
Monument described in 1983 as a large, circular-shaped area (diam. 30m) enclosed by an inner bank, an intervening fosse and a partially surviving outer bank. The earthen bank (int. H 0.5m) is substantial and well preserved, falling c. 2-3m deep into the fosse. The intervening fosse (Wth 1m) has been recut as a drain on the W side. There are traces of an outer earthen bank at W. The interior of the site is clear of vegetation and appears featureless. Monument is visible today as a circular-shaped tree-lined earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
