The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the N facing slope of a high ridge in grassland, with views restricted by the surrounding hills. Ringfort (WM012-095---) 140m to NW, ringfort (WM012-105---) 150m to SE. The field fence which forms the boundary with Rathlevanagh townland lies 30m to W. Cropmark of levelled monument visible on Digital Glober aerial photograph taken November 2011. Upstandign monument described in 1976 as a sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 34m N-S; 32m E-W) enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank and shallow external fosse. The bank is best preserved from WSW-N-NE, and reduced to a scarp elsewhere. The fosse is visible at NNE, and is very faint elsewhere. The interior slopes gently to NNE. There is an entrance gap (Wth 2.5m) and a causeway (Wth 2.4m) across the fosse at E. A NE-SW field fence intersects the monument at N.
