The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the summit at the SE end of a ridge. Depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan maps as a circular enclosure that is annotated as ‘fort’. This monument has been levelled, and is now visible only as a raised scarp (approx. diam. 33m NNE-SSW) enclosed by a wide deep fosse (Wth 6m; D 0.25m). Traces of broad cultivation ridges are visible running ENE-WSW across the interior. A field fence running NW-SE which forms the townland boundary with Martinstown intersects the perimeter of the monument from NE-E. The levelled monument is visible as a crop mark on the Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011.
