The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on grassland beside stream marking townland boundary with Ballynacarrigy Old and 110m 110m SW of the Royal Canal. The village of Ballynacarrigy lies 180m to the N. Site of souterrain described in file as 'now destroyed' that was visited by Kevin O'Brien in February 1985, no other details on file. Aerial photographs taken between 1966 and 1970 by Cambridge University (CUCAP APG090-098; BDV063) indicate that this field contained numerous earthworks some of which are barely visible on Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011. The possible souterrain may have been located inside sub-circular enclosure which is clearly visible on aerial photographs taken in 1966 (CUCAP APG096). This sub-circular enclosure is partially visible on Digital Globe aerial photograph.
