The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on E facing slope surrounded by gently undulating wet rushy grassland. Templecross church (WM011-051----) and graveyard (WM011-051001-) 700m to N, Tristernagh priory (WM011-052----) 1km to the NNE. The stream which marks the townland boundary with Tristernagh lies 20m to N. Polygonal shaped area (approx. dims. 58m NE-SW; 36m NW-SE) enclosed by a low earthen bank and a wide shallow external fosse. The interior slopes slightly from NW-SE and has vague traces of cultivation ridges. A field fence running ENE-WSW cuts through the S side of the site, giving it a straight edge on this side. The polygonal shaped of this earthwork may suggest a classification other than a ringfort. This earthwork may be related to the nearby Augustinian priory at Tristernagh. The location of this earthwork in the townland of Grange may suggest that it was used as by the monks of Tristernagh Priory.
