Four rectangular-shaped ponds situated on the E side of the Yellow River are annotated 'Old Ponds' on an 18th century estate map of Barbavilla Demesne (NLI, MS 21 F. 48 (009) ). This area is now covered in a coniferous tree plantation. Possible fish-ponds of unknown antiquity.
