The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a limestone knoll. Religious House of the Franciscan order (WM006-038----) 140m to NW. Ringfort (WM006-040----) 230m to SE. A low artificially modified platform enclosed by an internal fosse and well preserved L-shaped earthen bank running from W-S-E (L approx. 60m) with a possible entrance gap at S. The interior slopes slightly from N-S. Outside the bank to the NW is a low rectangular earthwork (approx. diam. 12m N-S; 4m E-W) with some stone visible. This earthwork forms the S extent of an earthwork complex which extends for approx. 12 hectares. This earthwork complex which is visible on Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011 may represent the remains of a deserted medieval settlement. The remains of what appears to be a sunken way or old river course runs NE from the E side of the nearby religious house (WM006-038----).
