The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on an elevated position on the foothills of Croghan Kinsella, on a W facing slope of un-reclaimed, rough grazing land. A U-shaped enclosure (int. diam. 29.5m E-W; 20m N-S) which appears to have been cut by a deep gully/stream on the N side. The enclosure if defined by a bank (Wth at E 4.5m; int. H at E 1m, ext. H at E 1.8m; Wth at S 3m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1m; Wth at W 4m; int. H at W 0.7m; ext. H at W 2m) and external narrow, steep-sided fosse at E (Wth at top 1.8m; Wth at base 0.6m; D 1.2m).
Some 1.5m outside the bank on the S is an arcing bank (Wth 1.8m, int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.8m) which is flanked externally by a modern-looking drain (Wth 1m; D 0.6m) which is a continuation of the fosse at the east. There is a stone-lined entrance (Wth 1.5m) at the NW, which may be original. Internally there are a series of lazy beds running E-W.
East of centre is a terrace cut into the slope and features the remains of a house (L 7.5m; Wth 3m). This is defined by a low earth bank (Wth 1m; H 0.2m) oriented WNW-ESE with a possible entrance (Wth 1m) on the north long wall.
