On a relatively steep NW facing slope of the foothills of Croghan Kinsella with panoramic views to the W. An oval enclosure (38m NW-SE x 26m NE-SW) which appears to have been cut on the NE by a substantial NW-SE stone and earth field fence. The interior of the enclosure slopes from SE to NW. From the E to the SW it is defined by a low grassy bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.4m). At the ESE this has been reduced slightly where an earthen bank (NE-SW) skirts the edge of the monument. Along the W and NW the bank has been reduced to a scarp (H 0.3m - 0.5m). At the SW there is a gap (1.7m across) which may represent an entrance.

Some 5m NW of the enclosure a saddle quern (L 0.5m; Wth 0.26m; T 0.16m) was found partially exposed and partly embedded in the sod. This consists of a granite block with straight sides and end and a relatively flat base. Opposing corners of the stone appear to have broken away. The grinding surface is slightly dished and there is evidence of dressing and use wear.
