The National Monuments Service's description
Kiltegan has been identified as the church of Tecan, a contemporary of St Patrick, though there is no evidence to support this claim (Price 1949, 111). A C of I church was built in 1805 within an ecclesiastical enclosure (WI032-001----) with graveyard (WI032002-). It is likely that an earlier church existed within the enclosure, possibly under the 19th-century church, but is no longer visible above ground.
