The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in a marshy field on the N bank of a stream on a NW-facing slope. According to a local farmer an irregularly shaped mound (H c. 0.5m; diam. c. 8m) existed here which was made up of fire-cracked stones and black earth. Levelled in 1986-7 when a pit-like feature was also noted within the mound. (Information A. O'Sullivan)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
