The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in a marshy area. Circular area (diam. c. 40m) excavated in 1939 prior to the construction of the Blessington Reservoir. No evidence for internal features or dating came to light. (O'Connor 1944, 60)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
