The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a natural rise bounded at the N, E and S by a small stream. Circular area (min. diam. c. 30m) defined at the W by an earthen bank (max. Wth 3m) which had elsewhere been eroded by the stream. The site was excavated in 1939 prior to the construction of Blessington Reservoir. Early medieval and 18th-century material came from the site with slight evidence for a structure towards the centre. (O'Connor 1944, 53-9)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
