The National Monuments Service's description

In rough boggy ground flanking the River Liffey. A small boulder of fine-grained granite (L 0.43m; Wth 0.33m; H 0.37m). To one side is a circular bowl-shaped basin (diam. 0.2m; D 0.17m) with very smooth sides. The stone is not in situ but it seems unlikely that it has been moved very far from its original location.
