The National Monuments Service's description

Located in pasture on the crest of a SW-facing slope at the mouth of the Dalligan River. Described as a cairn (diam. c. 15m) in which a lintelled passage was found sometime before 1940 when the cairn was removed (NMI file). Not visible at ground level.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
