The National Monuments Service's description
On level ground on a S-facing slope in undulating terrain, in lush grass pasture. There is a limited view upslope to the N, though the Comeragh Mountains are visible over the brow of the hill. The view E is extensive with the sea visible in the distance to the SE. There is a good view over the valley to the S, with a church (WA024-033001-) and graveyard (WA024-033002-) 150m to the S and a souterrain (WA024-033004-) with reused ogham stones (WA024-033006- to WA024-033015-, WA024-033017-) c. 110m to the SSW. The view SW is impeded by a ridge and the view W by rock outcrop c. 80m from the monument. This is a much denuded ringfort but is still clearly visible as a circular area (diam. 28.6m) enclosed by a bank (overall Wth 6m; Wth at crest 2m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.9m), which is largely reduced to scarp internally, though the interior is slightly concave. There is a fosse (Wth 5.6m; D 0.5m) evident from SW-W-NW which is wide and waterlogged. It is not clear elsewhere, particularly to N where there is no trace. There is a slight suggestion of an entrance (Wth c. 4m) in the E sector. A field boundary runs E-W c. 12m N of the monument and another running roughly N-S c. 25m to the E. There is a small area of rock outcrop (diam. c. 6-7m) c. 17m to the NE of the ringfort.
