The National Monuments Service's description
Located towards the bottom of a S-facing slope and just above the flood-plain of the W-E Blackwater River with a S-N section of the river c. 300m to the E. This is a two-storey house built c. 1849 as a hollow square that is thought to incorporate earlier fabric (Bence-Jones 1975, 254), but there are no historical references and no older fabric is visible.
