The National Monuments Service's description

Marked as a semicircular feature (ext. dims. c. 35m N-W; c. 20m N-S) defined by a curving bank W-N-E only on the 1927 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated in pasture on the NW-facing slope of a ravine, it is visible as a shallow depression, possibly a quarry.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
