The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a slight rise in a broad basin. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims. 48m N-S; 42m E-W) defined by a flat-topped bank (Wth of top 1.5m; Wth of base 3.5-4m; int. H 1.5m; ext. H 1.6-1.8m) with a modern external drainage ditch N-SW, and by a stone-faced field bank (Wth 3.5m; H 0.8-1m) SW-N. The original entrance is a gap (Wth 1.8m) in the bank at SE. The bank forms the boundary with Ballycashin N-E and with Kilronan SW-N. The interior is planted with deciduous trees.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
