The National Monuments Service's description

Situated at the N end of a broad N-S ridge. Subcircular scrub-covered area (dims. 33m E-W; 31m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 2.5-3.5m; int. H 1-1.4m; ext. H 0.8-1.7m) with internal stone-facing. The original entrance could not be identified, but there are gaps at ENE and SW (Wth 1.8m). There is no visible fosse. A souterrain (WA016-028002-) is built into the bank at S.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
