The National Monuments Service's description

Excavated (00E0293) as Area 27 of the N25 Kilmacthomas re-alignment. Situated in a slight fold on a SW-facing slope. An irregularly-shaped burnt mound (dims. c. 12m NE-SW; x c. 12m) formed ragged pockets (max. T 0.15m), and extended outside the roadtake at NW. Portion of a trough (L 2.8m; D 0.3m) was excavated.
