The National Monuments Service's description
Excavated (00E0059) as Area 25 of the N25 Kilmacthomas re-alignment. Situated at the N end of a broad S-N spur of Treacy's Hill overlooking the NW-SE Mahon river which is c. 550m to the E. The arc of a slot-trench (diam. 5.2m N-S) with post-holes is associated with some stake-holes and pits, one of which (dims. 2.7m x 2.1m; D 1.85m) was stone-lined and contained sherds of a single Late Bronze Age vessel. Evidence of Neolithic occupation (WA015-094001-) and of medieval metal-working (WA015-094003-) was found at the same location. (Tierney 2008)
