The National Monuments Service's description

Situated towards the bottom of a S-facing slope. Subcircular, grass-covered stony mound (dims. 21m N-S; 19m E-W; H 0.6-0.8m) composed of fire-cracked stones with a clay mantle. It was partially excavated (98E0575) as Area 6 of the N25 re-alignment, which recovered evidence of one trough although others may await discovery. The trough was cut through the subsoil and there was no evidence of a wooden lining. (Tierney, Noonan and Richardson, 2008)
