The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a slight W-facing slope. First identified in centre-line testing (05E0763) in test area 42 by Ian Russell of Archaeological Consultancy Services in preparation for the Alternate Route 2 of the N25 Waterford City bypass (Russell 2008). It was subsequently excavated (E3436) by Anne-Marie Lennon during 2007 as Woodstown 10. An area of burnt stones (diam. 19-22m; max. T 0.3m) overlay three troughs. A rectangular trough (dims. 2.6m x 1.9m; D 0.2m) was cut through by a smaller trough (dims. 1.9m x 1m; D 0.3m) while the third rectangular trough (1.8m x 1.25m; D 0.65m) was c. 5m to the S. There were also a number of pits and stakeholes. (Lennon 2010; O'Hara and Ginn 2011f)
