The National Monuments Service's description
The burial of a Viking warrior was excavated outside the defences of enclosure (WA009-019----) at N. It consisted of a pit (dims. 1.5m x 0.85m; D 0.2m) which contained no human remains. However, it did contain arms and armour, including a sword, a spear-head and ferule, a small blade, a probable sword pommel, a broken iron axe, a battle-axe, and the iron boss of a shield.
