The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in pasture towards the bottom of the SE-facing slope of a valley, with a SW-NE stream c. 80m to the SE. It is constructed of Old Red Sandstone conglomerate. A subcircular roofstone (dims. 4m x 3.3m; T 0.4-1m) is sitting on a collapsed chamber, which was probably facing SW and is now built into the NE side of a NW-SE field bank. There are some upright stones beneath the roofstone. (Power 1911; Ó Nualláin 1983, 103)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
