On a slight rise in fairly flat terrain in the Tar river valley, with a stream flowing c. 120m to S and a holy well (TS087-016----) located 120m to SW. The church is not marked on the 1st (1840-41) ed. OS 6-inch map, but it is shown on the 2nd (1907) ed. as 'church (site of)'. According to Power (1908, 61-2), the church was 'of the Penal Times'.
