The National Monuments Service's description
On a SW-facing slope in terrain sloping towards the River Tar, in reclaimed field of lush meadow. Monument, not visible at time of inspection, was noted on field survey prior to construction of Cork-Dublin gas pipeline in 1981 (Cleary 1987, 116). Roughly circular enclosure (diam. 35-45m) defined by a low, curving earthen bank (H 0.2-0.4m), not visible in W quadrant (ibid.). A magnetometer survey showed an external fosse (ibid.). Enclosure located c. 55m W of a castle (TS087-006001-) and c. 40m SW of a mid-17th-century house (TS087-006002-).
