The National Monuments Service's description
On a gentle W-facing slope in meadow. The souterrain is now filled with clay. A small mound of clay marks the location. The monument was discovered in 1993 by the landowner during excavations for a water pipe. The capstone was c. 0.3m below the field surface. According to Holland's report (Tipp. SR County Museum, 18th June 1993) 'the site consists of a two chamber souterrain, built of well placed limestone drystone walling. The one chamber open today was a roughly rectangular shape (with rounded corners). The capstones were missing. The interior was filled with water but the height to the capstones would appear to be (estimated) c. 3m. In the eastern end wall is a small, low, creep which ...leads via a short passage, angled right (and southwards) to a second corbelled chamber. This is inaccessible at present. [The landowner] further informs me that there is a blocked creep in this second chamber (again to the south). This could be a third chamber or passage. There are no traces of any earthwork around the souterrain'.
