The National Monuments Service's description

On the W end of a ridge running E-W, with the ground beyond the fort sloping to the N, S and W. It is located in a tillage field and ploughing has taken place right up to the edge of the monument. The field boundaries to the S and E have been removed. It is a raised circular area (diam. 31m N-S) defined by an earth and stone bank which has been reduced to scarp in the S half of the enclosure. An E-W diameter could not be obtained as the interior was heavily overgrown with nettles at time of inspection. There is no clear evidence of a fosse, just a slight buffer zone of grass and nettles between the edge of the enclosure and tillage. The scarp is 1.2m high above the exterior in the S quadrant. In the W quadrant the edge of the bank has been disturbed, truncated and there has been some dumping of stone at the base of the bank. Some of the bank has been cut and some trees on the edge of the bank have fallen causing some of the bank to collapse. In the NE quadrant the bank has been reduced to scarp. In the N and SE quadrants there is an area of dumped material outside the edge of the monument. The area around the perimeter was so overgrown by scrub and nettles that the entrance might be obscured. There is a narrow gap, possibly a cattle break, in the W quadrant (Wth c. 1.50m).
