The National Monuments Service's description
In the external yard immediately N of the church of the Franciscan friary (TS083-019003-). This graveslab was uncovered during the construction of a car park opposite the church entrance, to the W. The limestone slab (L 1.03m; Wth 0.31m; D 0.13m) has a chamfered edge (Wth 0.02m)around the upper surface. It is decorated with a four-armed cross carved in relief within a recessed square, the bifid terminals of the cross arms extend beyond the boundary of the square, a lozenge-shaped area occurs at the centre of the cross. The cross shaft consists of parallel incised lines and the cross base forms two inverted closed Ys within a incised rectangular area. On the sinister side of the cross shaft there are three incised mason's tools, one above the next, the uppermost being a mallet, then a chisel and below a mason's square. The form of the cross, with bifid terminals and a boxed termination, suggests a 13thth-century date for this graveslab.
