The National Monuments Service's description

On a gentle W-facing slope on relatively flat ground in gently rolling terrain, field recently planted with winter corn. A cairn (TS075-064----) is visible on the Galtee Mountains, c. 5.5km to the NNE, the Knockmealdown Mountains dominate the view to the S. Large oval, steep-sided cairn (dims. 21m NW-SE; 9.5m NE-SW; max. H 2.25m) aligned NW-SE. The top of the cairn (dims. 10.3m NW-SE; 6m NE-SW) has a hollow at the SE end which may be the result of a collapsed internal chamber. Composed of loose stones, all sandstone, average c. 20cm in diam. Cairn is too large to be a result of field clearance. A similar cairn is located 340m to the SSE.
