The National Monuments Service's description

In relatively flat terrain on a low ridge, in gently undulating pastureland. This bivallate ringfort consists of a roughly circular area (diam. 23.4m N-S; 22m E-W) enclosed by a bank (Wth 1.6m crest, 4.4m base; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.73m); wide, U-shaped fosse (Wth 2.8m; D 1.7m) and outer bank (Wth 1.7m crest, 5.1m base; ext. H 0.7m). Both banks are of earth and stone construction. The interior is grass covered with some gorse and scrub on the banks. Traces of lazy beds in the interior. In the W quadrant the inner bank and part of the interior have been quarried into, a lime kiln is shown in this area on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map and the bank is disturbed in this quadrant on the later 1906 ed. The outer bank has been disturbed and partially flattened in the SW quadrant and the fosse has been filled in in the NW quadrant, possibly as a result of the quarrying activity. In the SE quadrant the outer bank terminates forming a gap (Wth 1.2m) between it and a short earthen bank (L 10m) which runs E-W up to the edge of the monument. This may be an entrance feature though there is no causeway over the fosse at this point. The inner face of the outer bank has been truncated in the S quadrant, some large stones are visible in the exposed face.
