The National Monuments Service's description
On a SE-facing slope in upland terrain in the Galtee Mountains. There are extensive views SE overlooking a valley and mountains beyond, otherwise the view is limited to the surrounding mountain slopes. A ruinous small rectangular house, aligned NE-SW (int. dims. 4.2m x 2.7m) with a possible entrance (Wth 0.8m) in the SE wall towards the NE end. The walls (Wth 1.1-1.6m) have collapsed (Wth 2.1m; int. H 0.23-1.5m; ext. H 0.93m). There is a smaller building adjoining at the SW end (dims. 3.4m NE-SW; c. 2.3m NW-SE) largely built into the slope, with walling only clear where it adjoins the house and along the SE side (wall T 1.6m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.82m). There is a entrance (Wth 1m) to this building at the NE end of the SE wall. The interior of the house is very rushy. The walls are covered in grass and heather.
The house is within the N quadrant of a large field (dims. c, 220m NW-SE; c. 160m NE-SW) which is indicated on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map. It appears to have been an area of cultivation in otherwise rough grazing on the mountain. On Digitalglobe imagery cultivation ridges are visible in this field. Another house (TS080-013----) is located 8m to the E. A structure within a hollow (TS080-012----) is located just outside the field, c. 20m to the N.
