The National Monuments Service's description

On a SE-facing slope in upland terrain in the Galtee Mountains. There are extensive views SE overlooking a valley and mountains beyond, otherwise the view is limited to the surrounding mountain slopes. A house, aligned NNE-SSW (int. dims. 5.5m x 2.5m), with an entrance (Wth 1.4m) at the NE end of the SE wall. The long NW wall of the house is built into the hill slope. The walls have collapsed (Wth 1.15-2.3m; int. H 0.4-0.7m; ext. H 0.45-0.7m) and are largely heather covered. There is a small crude, slightly raised, structure (dims. 1.5m x 0.9m; H above ext. 0.55m) defined by boulders 1.3m NE of the NE gable of the house.
The house is within the N quadrant of a large field (dims. c, 220m NW-SE; c. 160m NE-SW) which is indicated on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map. It appears to have been an area of cultivation in otherwise rough grazing on the mountain. On Digitalglobe imagery cultivation ridges are visible in this field. Another house (TS080-014----) is located 8m to the W. A structure within a hollow (TS080-012----) is located just outside the field, c. 20m to the N.
