The National Monuments Service's description
In heather with forestry to NW, at 500m spot-height of Knockahunna. Cairn identified by Con Manning (ASI files 15.05.1995). Sub-oval mound of stones (dims. 14m NE-SW; 9.5m NW-SE; max. H 1.4m) truncated by field boundary to NW and by trackway to SE. Cabin (2.2m NE-SW; 2.0m NW-SE; H 1.45m) constructed on top is of random rubble with coarse concrete mortar and closed by iron door to SE. Iron box to NW may have housed a battery. Various sawn off metal poles protrude from concrete bases at ESE and around the NW-side indicate the remains of television masts erected c. 1980s. Cairn (TS071-021----) on Sheegounna and cairn (TS078-001----) on Slievenamon are located c. 1km to SSE and c. 2km SSW respectively.
