The National Monuments Service's description
Inserted into the internal face of the S wall of the nave of Athassel abbey (TS068-013----). 1.12m E of the doorway into the cloister and 1.75m above ground level. A rectangular limestone plaque (L 1.15m; H 0.35m) which bears a latin inscription, in four horizontal rows, in raised black letter script. The top line is quite faded and has been slightly chipped. The inscription is bordered on either side by a raised area which tapers towards the base of the slab.
