The National Monuments Service's description

On a gentle N-facing slope in undulating terrain under pasture, SE of small turlough. Old field boundaries have been removed and new field boundaries and roads created. According to the OS Namebooks (O'Donovan 1840) this was 'the site of ancient fences forming an enclosure called Bally-na-scullog. There is here also the sites of ancient roads passing from the S.W. corner of the townland one through the western side & the other in a N.E. direction through the centre of the townland'. Roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 27m) is indicated on the current OS 6-inch map and is visible on an aerial photographs taken in 1974 (GSI S.623/2). Enclosure has been levelled but SE-SW quad. is visible as a slight curving depression (Wth c. 3.5m). Road and possible barn have been built over NE sector.
