The National Monuments Service's description
In undulating terrain on top of a low ridge within Railstown medieval settlement (TS061-126----), roughly mid-way along the eastern edge of the settlement. A rectangular building (overall dims. 11.6m N-S; 4.5m E-W; int. dims. 10m N-S; 3m E-W), aligned N-S, with an entrance or open (Wth 3m) S side. It is defined by an L-shaped earthen bank on the N and E side (int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.42m; Wth at top 0.6m; overall Wth 1.6m) and by the scarp of an adjoining larger enclosure (dims. 29.5m N-S; 18m E-W) on the W side (H 0.5m; Wth 4m).
