The National Monuments Service's description

In undulating terrain on top of a low ridge within Railstown medieval settlement (TS061-126----), 20m NW of the pond. A rectangular building (dims. 7.4m N-S; 16m E-W) with an internal division N-S division (H to W 0.19m; H to E 0.22m; Wth at top 1m; overall Wth 2.4m) 4m from the E bank. It is aligned roughly E-W. It is defined by an earthen bank with stone protruding (int. H 0.75m; ext. H 0.62m; Wth at top 1.55m; overall Wth 3.2m). There is a gap roughly mid-way along the S bank (Wth 0.5m) which may indicate a collapsed entrance. Another house (TS061-126004-) is located 15m to the S.
