The National Monuments Service's description
On top of a bowl-barrow (TS058-023004-) at the centre of an enclosure (TS058-023002-) containing a multi-period complex consisting of two ditch-barrows (TS058-023005- and TS058-023007-), a ring-barrow (TS058-023006-) and a habitation site (TS058-023001-). The complex is located atop the level summit of a prominent hill with panoramic views in all directions. A standing stone (TS058-079----) is visible 800m to the NE; a large barrow 1.5km to the WSW and a mound-barrow (TS058-047----) 1.8km to the S. The stone is perfectly vertical and appears to have been recently re-set as the base is encased in concrete. The standing stone was broken in two during a storm c. 1960s and subsequently repaired by the OPW (Danaher 1973 - excavations.ie). The standing stone consists of a roughly rectangular upright pillar of very fine-grained sandstone (Wth NW-SE at base 0.5m; L at base NE-SW 0.85m; H 2.15m). The stone is roughly rectangular in section. The stone is solidly set in a modern concrete base (Wth NW-SE at base 0.8m; L at base NE-SW 1.2m) with a metal rail (H 0.7m). The surface of the stone is weathered.
