The National Monuments Service's description
In Killeen bog, adjacent to the E side of Derrynaflan, a dryland island on which a monastery (TS054-002001-; TS054-002002-) is located. This structure (Wth 0.7m; D 0.07m; L 0.85m) was composed of three longitudinally laid brushwood elements that protruded from a high field. Two of the elements were orientated NW-SE, while the third element was orientated NE-SW; all were poorly preserved. The underlying peat was composed of moderately humified sphagnum-rich peat with moderate eriophorum inclusions.
