The National Monuments Service's description
In grassland atop natural rise of ground overlooking stream and wet marshy unreclaimed land to S and E and grassland at N and W. Fortified house and bawn (TS053-054----/TS053-054001-) 270m to SW. Ringfort consists of a raised circular area (int. diam. 32m N-S; 38m E-W) enclosed by a bank mainly reduced to a scarp (H 0.8m-2.5m) and outer fosse (top Wth 10m; base Wth 4m; ext. D 0.8m) visible from NW through N to NE only, with possible entrance gap (Wth 7m) at SW. Large silage pit (D 2.4m; dims.11m N-S X 12m E-W) dug into external face of scarp and platform of ringfort in SE quadrant of ringfort. Silage pit recorded by Cahill in 1982. External height of scarp nearly twice as steep on S side as it is on the N side. No evidence of fosse on S side of ringfort. Ringfort raised out much higher on S side which overlooks the wet marshy river and its floodplains and is not as high above the surrounding grassland at N and W sides.
