The National Monuments Service's description

In Derryvella bog, this possible togher (Wth 0.15m; D 0.08m; L 4.71m) was visible on the field surface and in the drain face. It was composed of two parallel roundwood elements (diam. 0.06 - 0.12m; L 0.17 – 0.32m) protruding from the field surface and the drain face at a 45°angle. They were orientated E-W and were in a moderate state of preservation where covered with peat. The underlying peat was composed of moderately humified sphagnum peat with occasional calluna and small occasional patches of eriophorum. A single piece of wood was identified as hazel.
