The National Monuments Service's description
On a steep NW-facing slope of rising ground in upland area, in coniferous forest with good extensive views. An enclosure on Newtown Hill is depicted on a map of the coal district near Killenaule by Patrick Leahy, 1824 (NLI 16.I.17(1)). It is not visible at ground level.
