The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a S-facing slope in gently undulating terrain. A roughly circular area (diam. 34m N-S) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.76m; ext. H 2.9m) and a deep, U-shaped fosse (Wth 3m; D 1.6m). Possible entrance at E - the bank to the N reduces towards the gap, however the gap itself is obscured by vegetation. The bank at E has been quarried into.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
